Starting and executing an Order

INTRODUCTION

Once the driver has signed off the checklist and started on his Route, he is on his way to start and execute an Order or a series of Orders. Every step of the way, his progress can be documented and the information relayed on a real-time basis to the warehouse. This module explains how an Order is started and executed.

How to start and execute an Order?

1. While leaving the warehouse, tap the first Order in the list of Service Orders. All details about that particular Order is seen.

2. Tap on the Map button to view the map of the Route..

3. Tap on the Directions button to view the directions to the location. Tap on the Going to Job button when leaving the warehouse.

4. Tap the Call ahead button to call the customer ahead and intimate them of the ETA of the delivery.

5. At the customer location, tap the “Start” button. In the resulting window, tap “Yes”.

6. While at the job, if any notes are to be entered that the people at the warehouse need to know, tap the Notes icon in the top panel. If there are any notes that have been entered by the dispatcher at the warehouse, it can be seen here. Tap on the “Add Note” button to add any notes.

7. In the resulting window, enter the notes and tap on the “OK” button. The notes are updated and are now available to be viewed at the warehouse.

8. While at the job, if any pictures need to be taken that the people at the warehouse need to see, tap the Picture icon in the top panel.

9. Tap on the “Take Picture” button, take the picture and save it. When prompted to enter the Image Title, enter it and tap on the “OK” button.
